The address to give your taxi driver: Via Aurora 39

Always use the full address, Via Aurora 39, 00187 Roma, not just "Via Veneto": Via Veneto is a long street and the apartment is on a side street nearby. Rione Ludovisi lies inside the Aurelian Walls, so the fixed taxi fare from Fiumicino airport to the city centre applies.

From Fiumicino airport to Via Veneto

Fiumicino (FCO) is Rome's main airport. There are two easy options.

By taxi. Take a white taxi from the official rank outside arrivals, and choose one licensed by Roma Capitale. Trips to the city centre inside the Aurelian Walls have a fixed fare of €55 per ride, not per person. The journey usually takes 40–50 minutes, longer at rush hour. Turn down anyone offering a ride inside the terminal: they are not licensed taxis.

By train and metro. The Leonardo Express runs non-stop from Fiumicino to Roma Termini in about 32 minutes and costs €14 per person. At Termini, take Metro A towards Battistini and get off after two stops at Barberini. From there, Via Aurora 39 is about an 8-minute walk, uphill along Via Veneto.

Which is better? For one or two people travelling light, the train is cheaper. For three or four people, the taxi costs about the same as train and metro tickets and drops you at the front door: with children and suitcases it is almost always the better choice. Trenitalia also offers small-group fares on the Leonardo Express, so check its website before you buy.

From Ciampino airport to Via Veneto

Ciampino (CIA) is used by many low-cost airlines and has no direct train from the terminal. Shuttle buses run by several companies reach Roma Termini in about 40 minutes, with tickets from around €6; from Termini, continue by metro or taxi as described below.

By taxi, the trip to Via Aurora usually takes 30–45 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver for the fare before you set off.

From Roma Termini to Via Veneto

Termini station is about 1.6 km from Via Veneto: around 20 minutes on foot, but with suitcases the metro or a taxi is easier.

  • Metro A: towards Battistini, two stops to Barberini (Repubblica, then Barberini). From the Piazza Barberini exit it is about an 8-minute walk, uphill along Via Veneto.
  • Taxi: from the official rank in front of the station, about 10 minutes on the meter, depending on traffic.
  • Bus: several routes link Termini with the Via Veneto area; check the current route with ATAC's journey planner.
  • On foot: about 20 minutes, fine if you are travelling light.

Metro and buses need an ATAC time-based ticket (BIT), valid for 100 minutes; at the metro gates you can also pay by contactless card.

By car: ZTL and parking

If you are driving, check on the Roma Servizi per la Mobilità website which ZTL (limited traffic zone) gates are active along your route before you set off: entering without a permit means a fine. There is paid parking around Via Veneto, both on-street and in garages.
